Since its founding over 58 years ago, Silver Gate Yacht Club has been dedicated to giving back to our Southern California community through our two signature charity events and our Junior Sailing program.
“We like the unpretentiousness of Silver Gate, we like the Shelter Island area, and the Wheelchair Regatta.”
- Wheelchair Regatta: Every year since 1960, the Silver Gate Yacht Club has been joined by the boating community and military volunteers to provide a day on the water for hundreds of physically challenged guests from San Diego and surrounding communities.
- Schooner Cup: This annual event is fun for all and hosted by the Silver Gate Yacht Club. All the proceeds are donated to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society
- Junior Sailing Program: In addition to the above charitable events, the Silver Gate Yacht Club’s Junior Sailing Program is open to the youth of our entire community to bring the skills and pleasures of sailing to interested youth in our community.
